Covid-19 Update: October 2020

We look forward to welcoming you to Okells and would like to update you on how the latest government advice affects us here at the Garden Centre.

All areas of our Garden Centre, Gift Shop and Coffee Shop are currently open.

Garden Centre & Gift Shop

Monday to Saturday: 9am - 5.30pm
Sunday: 10am - 5pm

Coffee Shop

Monday to Saturday: 9am-5pm
Sunday: 10am-4.30pm

Due to the latest government guidelines we are postponing all workshops for the remainder of this year.

Please see our Workshops page for more information.

In line with Government regulations, customers are now required to wear face masks or face coverings at all times across all areas of the Garden Centre, except when seated in the coffee shop.

We may need to restrict numbers at busy times to keep you and our staff safe.

We don’t take bookings in our Coffee Shop, so you may need to queue for a short time at our busiest periods but rest assured we will guide you to a table and get you comfortably seated as quickly as we can.

We can highly recommend visiting us in the quieter times before 11am and after 3pm for a relaxing, queue free experience!

Please observe social distancing, allowing at least 1 metre and preferably 2 between you, our staff and other customers.

We politely ask all customers with young children to please keep them with you at all times.

We provide Hand Sanitisers for your use at various points around the site and you will notice additional signage to inform you of the latest safety guidelines.

All trolleys and baskets are sanitized and ready for use at the main entrance and by the doors to the Gift Shop.

Please make payments by debit or credit card or Okells gift vouchers wherever possible.

We cannot always man our phone lines but if you leave a message, we’ll get back to you as soon as we can. Alternatively, you can email us on contact@okellsgardencentre.co.uk.

Thank you!

A sanctuary of horticulture, goods for the home & popular cafe, designed to bring people together

Opened in 1981, Okells began growing heather plants and selling to garden centres up and down the country. Over time, we have slowly expanded our offer to an ever changing array of plants, trees, seeds and tools for the aspiring gardener to accomplished grower.

Alongside our garden shop lies our home store, stocking a range of wares sourced locally and internationally. Our cafe has a hearty range of wholesome British classics, and we’re proud to offer creative workshops teaching skills from painting to jewellery making, offering new skills and bringing people together.

We are very easy to find, just outside Chester, Cheshire, on the A51 between Tarvin and Tarporley. To find out about our latest events and what’s on, it’s best to visit our instagram or facebook page, please follow the links below.
